Nina Contento

Nina Contento is a woman of action. She is a former proactive reporter, a dynamic multimedia journalist and videographer, and driven by everything media. Her skills now lend to a successful career in public relations and communications.

Nina has a penchant for the multifaceted world of broadcast journalism. Her interest in communications, backed by her dedication to preciseness, has helped her become an exceptional journalist and public relations professional. Whether it be by word of keyboard or word of mouth, she excels at all forms of communication.

Nina currently works as an account manager at Laura Bishop Communications (LBC). She employs all the skills she’s honed to offer clients options to communicate across a variety of media to further the reach – and appeal – of their messaging. LBC clients have taken note of how quickly Nina turns around sharp-looking social media and website graphics to capture an audience’s attention. Her copy then keeps them there long enough to fulfill the intended goal.

Nina’s background in television also makes her a strong asset to LBC. She helps fine-tune scripts, organize video shoots, and edits content for client videos, mostly for bond referendum campaigns. Nina understands the importance of captivating an audience as quickly as possible. Her speed came in handy as she contributed to the campaign that had the quickest turnaround time in LBC’s history.

Nina believes variety truly is the spice of life. That makes the communications field a perfect fit for her. She draws something new out of her toolbox each day to help a client.

Nina was formerly the Production Coordinator, Public Relations Manager and Social Media Manager for Glasstown Productions, a full-service video production company based out of Southern New Jersey. Nina worn many hats at GTP to help maintain their client communication and a positive public presence within the community. Other roles included script writing for made-for-TV commercials and talent on a variety of video productions.

Nina was also a Reporter and Multimedia Journalist for SNJ Today News, South Jersey’s former local news station. Along with her role of creating and producing interesting news pieces regularly, she also took on many roles at SNJ Today like hosting and producing South Jersey Speed, a TV show that gave viewers an inside look of racing in South Jersey. She hosted a video segment called “Main Street Minute,” which was developed to give South Jersey locals and visitors a better idea of interesting places around them and things to do in the area.

As a former Junior Reporter at FOX29 News in Philadelphia, the nation’s fourth largest news market, Contento was able to dive into a professional setting at an early stage in her career. These experiences in various fields have granted her numerous opportunities to quickly advance in the fast-paced world of journalism. In her spare time, she writes freelance for a few online magazines to explore her love for conversational writing and produces/films commercials.

Nina graduated in May of 2016 at Rowan University with a degree in Radio, TV and Film while minoring in Journalism. While at Rowan, she not only had internship experience, but she was a member of the Rowan Television Network where she was able to do live newscasts with RTN News, interviews and behind the scenes work on a state-of-the-art studio set. Contento steadily worked throughout college, gaining valuable experience with the clubs, courses and organizations she’s been involved with. Contento’s knowledge of the technical aspects of the field, and in front of the camera, equips her with a full-range of skills. She served on the executive board for Rowan’s Italian American Club, which has helped her gain networking skills and hone her interpersonal and communication skills.

Nina is able to encompass all aspects of the communication, journalism and broadcast news field into her life. She’s sociable, enjoys new encounters and is curious about exploring new places, always looking for more. She is focused and determined to advance herself and is excited at what her future in communications will undoubtedly bring.
